Good question. We don't have any here in Jacksonville, so I plan on going to Mike Norris Motorsports in the Orlando area. We are starting to hear good things about the Kelly Performance Center in the Miami area as well. Too bad Florida doesn't have more tuners, because we certainly have lots of Vettes. The Jacksonville Corvette club itself has over 200 members. I am moving to Pensecola next summer, so it would be nice if there were one out that way...
Leo's is the only place in Pensacola that does Vette work or minor mods(Besides the two Chevy dealers in town). He doesn't have a dyno so I don't think they can do any tuning. I want to do a cam and headers one day, but there is no one in this town that I know of to do something that major. I might tackle the headers myself, but not the cam. James at Running with the Devil in Mobile, AL (45 minutes away in a Vette :reddevil ) does tuning and can get you dyno time.
Don't forget to come by the parking lot behind Burger King at 9mile rd and Chemstrand saturday nights (starts @ 6pm). Lots of Vettes, Vipers, Prowlers, Street rods, F body's,Mopars, Ruststangs, old school cars, etc... hang there. Just find a space and pop your hood! The place to be if you like American muscle. After 10pm you can cruise down to the foot of Palafox street to the bayfront and laugh at all the ricers hanging out there
I agree with you. Not much for tuners anywhere in the state. And with all the corvettes in this state it is really amazing that there aren't more people around working on them. Closest to me is Norris Motorsports in Orlando and it is still 1.5 hours away. But, he does great work. Just a bit of a drive.
Good luck finding a shop.
Speed Unlimited might be a shop to check out for things like heads and cam installs. I hear there is shop looking to get a dyno early in 2004, but as for now other than mobile the closest is Adams automotive in ft walton.
Does anyone have an e-mail address or phone number for Mike Norris? When I take the Z back to Fl in October I want to take it to someone to "freshen it up" for me. Does he have a web site?
Thanks
If I had looked at the sponsor list to the left I would have seen his site. :_dupe: I'll contact them now.

At Blackforest Motorsports in DeLand (20 west of Daytona) we use Jim Smith. He is the best in the business. He is a retired GM Engineer (20 years) in their air/fuel department. He also worked on the C4 factory team. If you are interested, send me an e-mail at sjmanning@netzero.net. :steering:
Hey TimC5, if youre lookin for help with those headers, Ill definately help. Ive done them in a Trans Am and two SSs, so I cant imagine that its that much harder in a vette. I plan on putting the LG set up in mine as soon as I get settled. Ive got a garage at my apartment complex if you need a place to do it. Im gonna have a lot of free time because I check into flight school next friday, but it doesnt look like Im going to class up until sometime in October. Let me know, and if you wanna gimme a call, the numbers 585-746-9022, should be in town late wednesday night or thursday morning. Ill be driving to New Orleans to pick up the Z on Saturday.
Welcome to Pensacola FLYNAVY30. Look forward to another owner in town. I am much better at computer stuff than I am mechanically but I will be glad to grab wrenches if you guys need a hand.
There is a great tuner it Ft. Meyers. His name is Ron Bilyeu and he owns Pro Auto Tech. We just flew him into St. Louis a few weeks ago to tune a few cars and he really knows his stuff. He dynotuned my car after my H/C install. http://www.proautotech.com
Any other speed work can also be done at Blackforest Motorsports Group. They run cars in Grand Am, Rolex, American Lemans, SCCA Regional and National, Fran Am, Formula Mazda, etc. They do great work that is designed to be durable enough to race.

Call Roger or Joe Vinci in Orlando as well, 407-292-4500, dyno jet and an excellent staff, they were one of the first to mount an ATI when the kits first became available (my car) and Roger was a pioneer over the years with NOS and has excelled at the track. They stand behind there work and go the extra mile when working on anything, Roger designed the heads we are putting on my stroker, slightly off-set valves etc, great guys (well Roger can be a grump, but straight shooter, I'm a grumpy old guy too so I enjoy Roger, Joe you'll like a lot as well) Ernie does a lot of work in S. FL, and Mike in Orlando are the only 3 I am aware of--the Jacksonville area sucks in this regard and I'm sure the Panhandle is worse, Mobile is probably your closest place---
