Back in March I managed to kill my battery after draining it to nothing. (left the radar plugged in all week) Picked up a new one from NTB, which was supposed to be top-of-the-line. Well, this weekend I was installing some gauges and noticed drops of what I thought was oil on top of the battery. (figured I had spilled a little bit last change)
Nope! Upon closer inspection the battery had cracked at the top and was dropping down the back. I mixed up some baking soda and water and sprayed it down as completely as I could. Doesn't look like it got into the PCM, but might have hit the wiring harness. So far, so good though. I'm just going to keep an eye on it.
NTB did replace my battery without any hassle, so I have to give them credit for that...

glad everything is ok.
next time try the ACDelco AGM battery. 78P7YR. #19002255.
I can't find the link, but I'm sure I read that GM was having some problems with the AGM batteries as well. I don't think it was a problem with them leaking but problems none the less.

It dosen't seem like batteries are being made as good as they were years ago. The Delco battery, in my 1985 Oldsmobile will be 10 years old next month.

I tried to get a Optima Yellow top as a replacement, but they didn't have any in stock. All they had was a blue top? which I think is a marine battery.

Autozone has them. I picked up red top and they suck! My voltage reads very low each time I start in morning. I am thinking about upgrading to yellow top.
