Non-Run Flats
I wanted to stay alive....
We get way too much rain in the UK, and within about a week of owning my vette, it had nearly lost it at VERY low speeds in the wet due to these tyres.
Now been replaced with Michellin Pilot Sports - they made a world of difference.
I carry a small jack (mercedes benz), air pump, patch kit and lug wrench. All these items weigh a few pounds and easily fit in the compartment under the matt in my FRC. I also have a cell phone with me at all times...
Why miss out on the better ride, handling, low noise and performance of Non-run flats tires for that small chance you might have a problem on the road.
Just be prepared and enjoy the good stuff!
Mike

The sensors are epoxied to the wheel as the primary means of attachment, it would probably be enough on it's own to keep the sensor in place, the band clamp is more less a backup. They are mounted this way because my custom wheels do not have a valvestem hole through the wheel lip. This is the usual method of mounting the sensors on wheels that for whatever reason won't accept them with the stem mounting.
