Fuel Leak Major SAFETY Problem:
LOOKING FOR PERSONS WITH THIS PROBLEM RECENTLY:
I have a 1997 C5..with 41,106 miles on it. After a 1200 mile round trip to Las Vegas and back to the Bay Area, three days later I developed a gas leak at the sending unit on the right gas tank. Took it to the dealer to be fixed. Could not replace the gasket between sending unit and tank alone (have no ideal why not) had to replace the "torn" gasket with the sending unit. Car was out of warranty so I had to pay the $675.00 bill. I know there was a RECALL concerning this matter..but it was for the first 4113 made (I have #4422) So if anyone out there has had a fuel leaking problem and had it repaired, please file a complaint with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Auto Safty Hotline @ 1-800-424-9393. If enough complaints are filed the RECALL for this repair might start up. :grouphug:
