GM has gone electronic with their service information. The Dealers have online access and information for all cars released for shipment to the Dealers is available to them via the Electronic Service Information website. This also allows the online information to be updated almost instantly to the Dealers, so if a procedure changes, or a new procedure is added, the website can be updated.
Usually, after the vehicle is released for sale, GM starts printing the actual paper manuals. However, this can take a few months to get them printed, bound, and shipped to Helm (or any other place they might use for distribution). Then they can be sold to the general public via the distributor, usually Helm, or via a Dealer.
