Sometime last week I started getting a rattle noise that sounded like it was coming from my exhaust. So I took the car to the shop that installed my Borlas and they thought they fixed it, but unfortunatly the rattle is still there. Now as best I can tell it sounds like it is coming from one of the Catalytic converters. I thought the filament inside the Cat might have broke loose but after taking the car back to the exhaust shop that possibility was eliminated. There is only one other thing that I noticed might be the culprate. There is a metal hanger for the exhaust near the cats, has anyone else had a problem with these hangers or a noise similar to this one? If so, what was the cure???
Make sure the springs on the front and rear hangers for the intermediate pipe are not loose/rubbing something. If you can get it up in the air, bang on the pipes with your fist. See if you can duplicate the rattle. JMHO

My ZO6 has something that many refer to as the "Exhaust Gingle" and it is caused buy the cross over pipe between the two exhaust pipes. The pipe is 2 1/4 but there is only a small 3/4" -1" hole that the gasses pass through.
The turblance makes the noise. There were a bunch of articles about it a while back and one forum member went as far as to cut the pipe in half and gring the hole out to the same size as the inside of the pipe.
