Column Lock
I have been reading about the column lock problems. I just bought a 1999 vert. 23K miles. Seems perfect.
However, I just checked my sterring wheel and it does not seem to be locked at all. Could it have been modified not to lock or is this also a probelm with the column?

If it does not lock at all then either the Column lock bypass has been installed or your car had the correct 'fix' done. You're good to go!!

If it does not lock at all then either the Column lock bypass has been installed or your car had the correct 'fix' done. You're good to go!!

The wheel will always turn a little...the lock wont engage until you turn it a fair amount...maybe 10-20 degrees of rotation, so make sure you are turning it enough.
As others have said, if it doesn't lock, there's either a bypass installed or the dealer removed the locking pin. :)
