I just talked to the owner of Corvette Connection about doing my heads/cam install on my 99 Corvette. I told him that I was using TEA 5.3 litre truck heads and he told me that he was not interested in doing the instal because he could not see why I would use these heads. He told me that they were steal heads and that they would not flow anything at all. He also said that I am not going to like the outome of the instal if I went w/ these heads. Does he know what he is talkng about? I have seen alot of people using these heads w/ awesome results. Should I be worried? Kaley
I'm running 5.3 liter heads (they're aluminum, btw  ) and they flow great. My buddy and I did our own installs on our cars. I am very pleased with the results as are those who've ridden in or driven my C5. Also, lots of f-body guys are running the TEA 5.3 heads with excellent results as well. Just go onto LS1Tech.com and tell them what you said here. They'll give you an earful.
If you are indeed referring to the Corvette Connection in Fort Myers then keep in mind this guy runs a 9 second C4 that he modded all himself. He has some good Corvette mechanical skills but I think he does it more as a hobby than as a job -- he's hard to get ahold of on the phone and typically does only the work you ask him to.
I've used him for a number of bolt-ons since it's convenient with him here in town. If Kelley Performance or Norris were here in town I'd probably end up using them instead -- not because if technical know-how but because of customer service. Now I am not saying he's a bad guy, because I've chatted with him a number of times about different car related things. Just that if you don't know him you'd probably think he's rough around the edges.
I've heard a lot of praise from forum members for another tuner in town named Ron Bilyeu. He's a little hard to get ahold of since he's an ASE Master and does training all around the country, but he's supposed to be really good.
This is not the Corvette Connection in Florida. This Corvette Conection is in Denver, Colorado. The guy was rude. He kinda pissed me off. Just the things he was saying and the way he said them just rubbed me wrong. Kaley

Re: Corvette Connection? (2C5only21)
I had the same problem when looking for someone to install my S/C. Called a supposed Corvette specialty shop only to have the owner tell me they didn't do superchargers. This after I had been by his shop the week before and seen them installing one. I hunted around and found someone else and was very satisfied.
If I were you, I would leave this guy. Everything I've read on the forum about those heads has been positive. Leads me to believe he doesn't know what he's talking about, just wants to sell you some of his own heads :cuss
2C5only21, the guys over at Corvette Connection can come off alittle bit strong. I have had work done by them in the past on my Z28 and was really happy, others have not been so lucky. I can tell you for sure that they will not be working on my C5. IM me if you want some reputable shops that know what they are doing in our area.
Please do not confuse the Denver company with the Florida one....Keith Valone of Corvette Connections in Ft Myers Florida is very respected and could give you the correct info. He does nothing but Corvettes & Hummers. He has no website, but call information for his#

:yesnod: and keith's place is technically called, Corvette Connections of Lee County but he admits himself that there are too many "Corvette Connections" out there and it does get confusing :(
Before running away, throw away his phone number, tear out the page in the book you found it, beat the person that referred him to you, don't return his calls and don't even drive past his establishment, he is a moron of the highest degree. In other words he is dead wrong about the whole thing.
