Recently had the water pump replaced on my 1999 coupe (leaking). After the replacement, the coolant temp has gone as high as 230^ when the car is at idle. When you are going 35 mph or higher, the temperature usually stays at the prescribed 190^. Had one dealer check it out and they said everything was normal. All fans are coming on. I don't remember ever seeing the temperature rise this high before. Any ideas?
If you ran it low on water and hot, you might need to replace the TSTAT.
Could be sticking abit.
Does it seem to take longer for the car to warm up in the morning?
Its acting just like its suppose to.and seems normal. I think if its different than before your pump change what you were seeing then was abnormal if it was different cause your right in line with correct cooling temps now and it appears your fan is working properly. :)
