I just got my LM's installed yesterday. It is not as loud as I thought it would be. I like the sound it makes when under normal acceleration and WOT. However, I am a little discontent with the idle sound and the looks of the tips. I read that the "motor boat" sound, at idle, can be eliminated with an X pipe. But it will also decrease the "poping" sound under decceleration; which I love.
Okay, I'm convinced they will be loud enough. Just ordered a set from West Coast Corvettes. Up to this point I have never heard a system that had the sound I was looking for. I have pretty much tried them all. So, I had a set made without any mufflers, sounds awesome but not very attractive. Thanks to all that responded.
If you keep the cats you they will be loud, but not unbearable. But removing the cats are just painfully loud. My buddies have both setups and both of them loved them for the first 5K miles but have since grown sick of the resonance and went with the Indys. Botha r every happy. I think the SLPs are more suited for an F-Body.
I love mine, they are loud. At crusing a low rumble with low resonance but at full throttle almost nascar sounding and resonance is felt, but I love it loud.
Thanks for the input. I received quite a few positive reponses so I order a set yesterday. I've been running around the last couple of years with a custom set that I had made (no mufflers). Got the sound that I was looking for but not the cosmetic appeal. Are you happy with the appearence as well as the sound??

I was out at our regular Friday night meet and greet tonight and listened to a new set of LM's. I love the sound they make on a stock C5. However, I have heard them on a car with headers (FLP) and no cats and they were painfully (too) loud.
So, I think these ones really depend on what you are matching them with. Concerning the look...I prefer a Borla or Corsa tip to the LM's.
