I had my rims replaced and now I am getting a LF tire error.. I tried resetting the tire sensor with a magnet with no luck.. What else can i do.. Of course the tire company that changed the wheels said we did not do anything wrong :banghead: .. Is there anything else I can do?
Make sure your magnet is strong enough. I did mine and it took me three tries to get it to work. Eventually I just reprogrammed all 4 and it worked fine.
I what would you rate a magnet at.. how strong shoult it be.. I am using a fairly large magnet maybe I need a bigger one.. I tried about 4 times with no luck.. The horn never sounds..
keep moving the magnet around on all sides of the valve. it can take a while. you have to program all 4, you start with drivers front then work your way around each time you hear a beep.
Try reprogramming the other sensors. It could be very possible that the sensor was ruined during the tire exchange. I lost 2 of mine while replacing the tires. Sometimes it's unavoidable and not the tire guy's fault.
If that nut twists the stem a little too much, the sensor is easily destroyed.
If it is the a bad sensor, the dealer charges $125 for a new one. You can pick them up on the "for sale" section on the forum for a whole lot cheaper.
Good luck.

Re: Tire Sensor not working.. (dsg049c)
I just sat it ontop of the valve stem.. I will try moving it around.. Hope that works..
I think that's your problem. When programming, hold the magnet against the wheel directly next to the valve stem(not on top of it). It doesn't really take a Mondo Macho magnet to do the trick. I program mine using a couple of small magnets I picked up at an electronic parts supply co. HTH
The workshop manual doesn't specify, so I got hold of an industrial magnet. Still took me roughly a miniute ( I think) for the drivers front to sound. The rest seemed quicker. Still had to try 3 times. I agree with the rest, move it around and get it closer.
