It depends what you are looking for. If you live in a Triopical climate and/or are concerned only about dry weather traction, then the KD's, IMO, are the best. I've had the S03's and now have the BFG KD's (Not the KDW's). The S03' IMO don't come close to the KD's.
If you are lookin for an all weather tire, the Pilot Sports are up there. I can't speak about any of the others.
Just drove back from the tire store with the new GS-D3s installed. A heck of a lot less tire noise; however, one problem, I can now hear a wind leak in the passenger door at high speeds. Exhaust sounds louder, car handles like a dream, and they corner as good, if not better than the run craps.
Guess now I have to wait for a good torrential storm to see if they are as good in the rain as everyone says.
In that comparison when you add up all of the tests under "Road and Track rating" the S03's get about as high a score as you can get. They edge out the GS-D3's and the Pilot Sports "overall".
SO3's are the best tires i've had and i've had alot.

That's nice; glad to hear you like your tires.... :lolg:
If your running 295 or smaller IMHO you cant beat the BFG KD'S.there sticky as can be and are good for 14-20k miles depending on driving style. They hooked nice on my03' Cobra with 712 rrwhp and thats a feat considering I.R.S.Blew out the tranny going to an auto with hopes of beating the LPE C5R TT(I own one) and neither hookworth a s....t but I designed ladder bars with my partner in Canada,if your a car enthusiast you know he's the LPE of Ford.
I want that 8.95 record I am 119 cubes shy of the 427 and 1.8 liters.
They all say its in the cubes well I want to prove solid engineering can do a sreet emmisions legal car that has its Cats,A/C/Stereo and all standard 3800 lbs, direct from Detroit.
The tranny Tremec we use was in the Cobra and I blew that and the clutch,(2000.00)I hope the 7500.00 Nuke proof C4 will do its job along with what I believe to be the 1st IRS production car moded with ladder bars.Took 6 attempts but within a year I hope to make them for C5's.Not only enhances traction unreal but corners through the twisties like no ones biz.
Well It should be home after ATI displays it at SEMA as well as my WRX with aftermarket drivetrain.SO LONG,David Smilovic.
I've run the stock crap, Kuhmo Exstas, and the Mich Pilots. The Pilots are by far the best tires!
I've run the S03s and the Kumho MX. I believe the Kuhmo is a better all around tire. A couple of years ago the Pilot was king but I believe the new generation of tires that are coming out have surpassed the Pilot tires. I'm also not a real big fan of French companies right now. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...rf_charts.html
...I'd like to buy your new/low mile rears, just to take them off your hands, since they are such crappy tires, run rough, don't perform, etc. :D
I actually prefer them, since the noise, etc., don't bother me. When I want quiet, I drive something else. Heck, I ride a Harley with loud pipes--my Vette is a library in comparison :)
If selling, I live in TX, wanting low mile 275/40-18 rears, free to a good home (or for a decent price as I'll be replacing mine in about 2k).

Not a slick mountain road but the commuter lane, inside lane (2 people in 2-seater or 3 or more) with commuter traffic going 40 mph slower to your right hoping no one jumps out in front of you and the guardrail flashing by on your left, its dark and its raining hard (!). Yes the GS-D3s run GOOOOOD in the wet. Also very impressive on an autocross course but not as good a Hoosiers or Kumho "race" tires.
