I was reading the repair manual about the FFS fuel system, and I really do not understand how it actually works. The operating description does not really explain how it keeps the levels equal, or even if it does keep them equal, other than to say the gas is pumped from the left to the right tank and then back from the right tank to the left tank via the venturia pump.
Does anyone actually understand how this system actually works?
_______
I have a good understanding of it. You pretty much said everything about it. They are junk for high HP. I gutted the whole system and started over. I am now using two walbo's and a Aeromotive EFI pump with a controller. I have a boost referenced FPR on the rail also. I am also running a 12an cross over between the tanks. I have one way's on all the lines to. If you want pic's I have em.

Yes, but how is the level in each tank controlled?
I do not understand why simply pumping gas from one tank to the other and back again will keep the levels equal.
The system is designed to keep the left tank full as full as possible until such time that the right tank is empty, as the supply to the engine comes from the left tank.
Excess fuel pressure supplies fuel to the right fuel tank siphon jet pump which causes fuel to be drawn out out of the right tank and transfered to the left. The transfer rate from right to left is greater than the transfer rate from left to right which keeps the left tank at a higher level than the right. Fuel level in both tanks equalize when the fuel pump when the fuel pump is not operating and the fuel level is greater than 50%

OK, now that makes sense.
So, when the tanks are more than 1/2 full, does this mean that the extra fuel that is pumped from the right tank into the left tank flows back into the right tank through the accordian pipe (the one that the fuel uses to fill the right tank from the gas station pump)?
