Does anyone know the proper torque procedure for head studs. I am sure it is different then normal bolts, ie. 90 degree after so many ft. lbs.
Plus can someone verify a Fel-Pro 1041 gasket will work on a 4.125" bore? I have been told this but would like to verify.
Thanks! :seeya
Felpro 1041's work very well on the 4.125" bore. Follow the GM manuals for bolt tightening sequence and the ARP torque reccomendations listed on the back of their packaging. On mine, I used moly paste as a lubricant and torqued to 85 ft lbs on the large studs and 28 ft lbs on the small studs.
With ARP moly lube the large studs are tightened in 3 stages to 65# then the small ones are tightened to 22. Go to 75 and 25 if using oil. The studs themselves are tightened into the block just until they bottom.
