Help with New Clutch and upgrade?
I need the collective wisdom of the Forum:
My 2000 FRC's in the shop, and from the funny sounds it was making, I think I am going to need a new clutch.
I am thinking that if I put *any* GM clutch back in, it should be the 2003 Z06 setup.
Anyone have the part numbers for the '03 Z06 clutch disc, pressure plate, T.O. bearing and slave? Is the flywheel different as well? What else should I install while it's apart? Other advice?

I believe the part numbers you need are 12570806 - Flywheel kit / clutch, and 12562767 slave cylinder. Just had it installed in my '99 and really like it. Easier to work than the standard set-up! Good luck with your repairs :thumbs:

The dealer thinks it is the Throw Out bearing. If I have to have them open it up, I'm putting in the Z06 clutch and slave as well, since the biggest portion of the cost is the labor. $$$ :eek:
They are opening it up on Monday, so we'll see. The noise it was making at partial clutch engagement was absolutely horrid, so I'm expecting to see something obviously hosed once we're inside.
