I'm just curious.... In Texas will the Z07 427 package pass emissions testing?
Can it be tuned to pass emissions ? How much will that take away from the HP/TQ to get it to pass ? Ho do you get eround the emissions tests (if it fails) http://www.motorsporttech.com/z07.asp
It will pass, since they don't sniff your tailpipe, in many locations. They plug it into the computer. As long as it doesn't throw a code, you are all good.
I take it you have to find a place in Texas that ONLY connects to the computer ? and not a place that does sniffer testing huh ? Is that what you mean ?
I'm in Dallas , and I'm getting closer to getting a Z06, and I am planning/researching my mods early. The MTI Z07 package is very intreresting to me.... :D . I would want it to pass emissions though. My Goal is a normally asperated 500RWHP.

MTI 427 Z07 package=VERY GOOD CHOICE my FRIEND and they will get you 500rwhp on a Z06/or LS1 6 speed, with a 2 year/24Kmile warranty to BOOT!
They sniff your pipe at most places I have been to, but don't let that slow you down. If you run cats and get a good tune, I can't see why it wouldn't pass. Lou Gigliotti gets his radical X2 cam to pass inspection.

My buddy owns an MTI 422 he is in this months GMHTP. (DJ99SS). To get 500 you will need one of the more radical cams (like an R1). In Texas in the big cities where emissions testing is more hardcore, they don't sniff your tailpipes. They only hook to the computer in 96 and later (OBDII) and check that way. If the computer says you are ok, you are ok... And with a bit of ls1edit, anything will pass that sort of test.
Don't have the MTI 427 package, but something similar, and my buddy's radical cammin car passed emissions, all they did was plug it to the computer, and passed. Thats what im hoping for too!!! :leaving:
