I have Stainless Works' 3" muffler system on my car right now. The sound is perfect in my opinion. It has a very deep agressive tone without being so loud that you can't drive through town without sticking out TOO much. There isn't much resonance either. The system, right now, is made to join up to their long tube headers, but could quite easily be adapted to fit up to other long tube header systems.
Stainless Works is also working on making this system so it joins up with factory or aftermarket 2-bolt flange center sections.
Let me know if you are interested in pricing/availability or if you have any questions.

Re: 3 inch exhaust (3X2)
Our LG Pro Long Tube headers will adapt directly to the Stainless works 3" mufflers. Our system is a full 3" system, and was designed to mate up to the 3" mufflers that are available.
I also have just recently put the Stainless Works system on my car alot quieter than the Corsa Ti Comp Kit that I had on before but it has a good rumble and it is now just right.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you reduce your backpressure so much that a significant amount of low-rpm torque may (in a sense) move too far up on the rpm scale? I spoke to a well-known exhaust expert a while ago and he commented that the biggest mistake young kids make with their Japanese "sportscars" is having the exhaust system pipe diameter opened up significantly. They drive off with limited torque in the normal rev range and come back severely disappointed.
When I had my 68 vert, I had the pipes changed from 2.2? to 2.5-inch diameter and felt a very noticable shift in the torque curve (toward the high end). However, I had previously swapped the original 327 for a ZZ3, which pumped out a minimum of 70 horses more. My theory, therefore, is that unless you crank up the HP significantly, going to a 3-inch pipe system will hurt more than it helps during normal driving.
