Default ABS repairs

Anyone repaired the Brake induction vents on a Z06? Another incident by my better half, managed to snap off the vent cover from the passenger side of the vette. Has anyone repaired the portion of the car? Without replacing the whole vent (with requires replacing the rocker panel). I am have a problem finding a material that will adhere to the plastic. Any ideas would be appreciated.

No and Yes. No bazel separate. Yes, whole vent and bazel. She managed to save the outside cover and screen. Chevy says buy all or none. I would prefer to reattach the present screen.

I see, what about removing the wheel well liner and then removing the duct as well. Cut a plastic piece that you can insert inside the broken end and the screen portion. Drill holes through the pieces and then pop rivet it back together??

I'll pull the manual and see if I can get to that portion.

Not sure exactly which part you are talking about.
I pulled this off from Bob Wendorf's post under Ken's Newsletters:

Z06 LH Rear Brake Scoop $ 62.59
Z06 RH Rear Brake Scoop $ 62.59
Z06 LH Rear Brake Scoop Duct $ 17.89
Z06 RH Rear Brake Scoop Duct $ 17.89

If the plastic is ABS you can weld it with solvent such as methelene choride and a q-tip, just hold the parts together and run the solvent along the seam, it will wick right in and result in a very strong bond. If you put a drop of solvent on a hidden area it should slightly soften the surface of the ABS, if it just evaporates without softening the plastic then the material is similar to nylon. Master Bond used to sell an adhesive for nylon which is almost impossible to repair with glue, hope this helps.
