Well my transmission is going south. My car has the A4 in it. Is there a better transmission out there and what do you recommend. I have a 4.10 diff coming just ordered it yesterday :hurray: . This was before my transmission gave out. So please chim in. Thanks.
My A4 went out at 48K. Dealer rebuilt it for $2100.
The Master Vette Tech suggested that I change the trans fluid
at least once a year. I do.
I have the 3:15 perf. rear diff.
I dont know of a third party trans offering. But, you have to ask yourself
this. If my car was T-Boned today sitting in a parking spot and totaled would the Ins. co. pay me what it's worth or what it's book value is???....
You are gonna get book value....
I love my 'Vette, but I whince at folks who pump mega bucks into a car that can only get book value if totaled due to unforeseen life events.
My $.02
You also have to consider any future mods to the car before you choose your tranny. There are several out there and most have good results with em. Keep in mind you could also find someone to just rebuild it with the parts you pick out.
Level IV from Chuck at FLP. The best built 4L60E IMHO. Has stood up to over 10000 miles of heads and cam power and a whole lot of drag racing. You can search the forums. There are quite a few members who have the FLP tranny.

Re: Transmission Help Needed!!! (add)
Chuck of FLP's Level IV Tranny seems to be the most popular choice on this forum as it is the most BATTLED TESTED peformer on the market in my honest opinion and CHUCK is a great guy to deal with.
GIve CHUCK at FLP a shout or email and tell him i said :seeya
These guys are the ticket, I got close to 8,000 miles on my level IV, go to the track almost every week and make on average 5 passes. Not even a hiccup and I am putting down some seious power. I would definitely give Chuck a call. When you do the trans it would also be a good time to look into a performance torque converter if you don't already have one, they make a world of difference. Oh, yeah if the thought of a different rear end gear ratio crosses your mind it would be a good time to do that to. Oh poopie I gotta go I'm about to have a Modahaulic relapse. :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

Re: Transmission Help Needed!!! (VETZILLA)
Vetzilla,
Haven't seen you around these parts much. VERY IMPRESSIVE turboed A4 beast you have there!  What type of ets and mphs does that bad boy turn at the track and what type of rwhp/tq do you crank out.
If this is too personal (some guys like to keep this type of track info private)simply IM me and i will keep your times and power levels in confidence!
