well today was pretty uneventful
put on my borla stingers today

1ST STEP GET THE CAR JACKED UP
and watch as front bumper is like 1/2 inch off ground
as you can see grasshoppers are not struggling to mate this year




2nd steps get the sway bar unmounted
these shoot bolts were tight as hell!!!


3rd step try to take off old system struggle for 1 hour trying to find the right combo of wood blocks so the damn jack doesnt sway to the left and right trying to get the car 38 inches up on a 21 inch lift jack

4th finally get old system off WHEW! it was 90 some degrees here today as well and i am wearing pants and t shirt!! dont look too hot here!



6th step here is the abundance of tool needed check out the ghetto rigged way of getting the car high enough didnt want to cut the stock system since it drops value from its $500 resale if it is cut



7th here is me :bling: after i got the tips lined up and leveled and the clamped tightened up on the system
gotta love the free borla cap even though i never wear caps was just too pimp of a picture to pass up hahaah :D


here is the final results although there was almost a few jackstands put through my tranny due to the fact of trying to lower the car with the ghetto way of going up didnt come down so easy
2 times it fell off the back when i was lowering it and it landed on the jackstands thank god :eeek: one time it just barely caught the lip of the one jack stand or it woulda been all over :eek:

Dang, Derek, you should put those pics on a diet! I have a cable connection and it took awhile to see them all! I was wondering how you were going to get your car up that high. You're lucky the car wasn't damaged coming down - kinda scary, but it brings back memories of when I and a coworker installed all new suspension components in my 68. Coil springs can have explosive force, that's for sure!

Anyway, congrats on getting it done (and living to tell about it); let us know how you like them. :cheers:

 

they are really nice and sound great

i am glad i have a partition thouhg or they would be really loud but prolly not too bad

esp in 6th at 60 not really any louder than stock ti system

I did mine the same screwed up way you did. I highly recommend taking it somewhere that has a lift. I will not be doing it again myself.

Brings back memories of my Magnaflow DIY install, except for the 90* heat, I installed mine in the Spring. Excellent work my friend. :cheers: :cool:

anyways to teh guy that cut up the stock exhaust you dont have the TI system that isnt worth jack squat if you cut it

 

I completely agree ; I would much rather spend an extra $50 to have a shop do the work than risk screwing up my ride.
