Hey Vararam is listing a velocity stack which slides into the throttle body. They claim 4-13 rwhp gain. Has anyone tried this item or heard about it? The VR-1b works great, so I assume that this also meets the claims.
If you put everthing that was available on you car and all the claims were true, we would all be running 700 HP.

Did you know that some vendors actually quote accurate estimates on power gains? Why do you automatically assume this is BS? Do you know something we don't?

I didn't say that was BS and I expressed my opinion about add on equipment and claims made. And you're the one that said "accurate estimates". I don't spend my money on estimates. I do live in the United States of America. We are allowed our opinions. Feel free to email me.
the purpose of my post was not to get opinions on aftermaket power adders vs claimed HP gains. I have dealt with Vararam and find them to be a very good company to work with and have been very satisfied with my air intake system. I am simply wanting to know if anyone has used the velocity stack and can provide more information about it. Please do not turn this into a post flaming claimed gains, etc.
Thanks
I'm sorry, but I thought you asked if "anyone heard of it". I must have misread your post! And I wasn't flaming anyone. Never have, never will. My Momma always said if you can't say something nice, don't say it.
I too am a satisfied Vararam customer and would like to know more about the velocity stack. Anybody got some info on this they are willing to share? Thanks.
Joe
Its only like $30 bux. Try it and see if you like it. I have one but I have not been able to test it yet.
I'd imagine it works the same as my self Ported and polished TB. I sealed off my PCV cavity for exactly the same reason...My TB is as smooth as that thing is..

I think this is a great option from Patrick
Ok, I'll bite on this and ask the question...what happens to the air that should be entering the PCV cavity? What do we do to ensure airflow to the PCV after this is installed? Is the cavity necessary, and what do we do (to the PCV system) when it is sealed off?

Re: VaraRam Velocity Stack? (chuckster)

The diameter of this device is smaller than the stock TB opening. He is trying to speed up intake velocity. The diameter of your ported TB is probably bigger than the stock TB. This stack will not fit properly in a ported TB.
Okay, someone PLEASE explain to me what happened to dynorun.001 in the dyno graphs at ~ 4000 rpm?????? Did a plug wire fall off???
You didn't see it right thetre it said that the operator was snorting crack and sneezed and blew one of his crack rocks into the number 2 cylinder causing a missfire...
