Default Shifter **** with 12v button/switch?

I have a momentary switch that I fabbed with my stock shifter ****. Looks great, but after a year and a half of using it, I have to say its not the most durable thing.

So I'm renewing my search for a 12v activation switch that is built into a decent shift ****. I know Hurst makes these for many shift **** sizes, but as of last year no one makes one that will fit the threads on a C5 shifter.

If anyone knows of one out there, please post it up.

Can someone refresh my memory on the thread size we have?

I just read an article about the MB SLR by McLaren. The shift **** has a engine start button in the top, under a flip-up door, pretty .

Some of the aftermarket parts distributors sell shift ***** with switches or switches with leds, check out companies such as Summit ,etc.

Funny seeing you on this board - usually see you on the other one.

I posted the same questions about six months ago. Someone responded and I had a hurst t-handle tapped accordingly.

I later ended up using a window switch instead. If you want to buy my t-handle, let me know (it was never used).

BTW, if you already have one, maybe doing a search would give you with size and pitch you need.

Thanks for the thoughts so far, guys.

I have checked Hurst, B&M, etc. Summit sells their shift *****. These companies DO make a **** with a 12v switch built-in, but they are all too small.

SilverState, I am not sure I would be too good at shifting a T-handle with any skill, but I appreciate the offer. Tapping it out to the right size is an option I had considered last year as well.

The size is 9/16"-18. The largest I can find from Hurst is a 7/16-20. I may just get one (ball-type) and try drilling/tapping it. Chances are good that on the ball-type there is not enough meat to drill it out large enough. :(

Is the switch too small in size or too small in current rating? If the current rating is too small then have the switch control a relay coil. Check the electronics distributors on line such as Allied, Digikey, etc, for more choices; some switch companies are Shurter, Microswitch, Alco, Cherry, C&K.
