Default false flat tire alert w/55 mph limit mode

car is in reduced mode, says right rear tire flat. It is not, car has ccw wheels and pilot sports, never happened before, car recently got a new climate control display, which is defective and came with several screws left in ashtray (Thanks a lot Showcase Chevrolet of Dallas), any possibility this is causing it? How do I reset the sensor, I rememeber something about a magnet.

Infuriated,
Jay

A Flat/Reduced Engine Power warning could just be caused by a temporary communication problem with the sensors. You can reset the error while you're driving by turning the ignition key to START (don't worry, the starter will not engage). The DIC will reset and restore Engine Power on the fly. If it happens again, you may want to start looking into new sensors or see if those tires/wheels are known for blocking the signal.

The 55 mph warning is just that. A warning to let you know you should not go over 55 w/ no preassure in your runflats. You can go as fast as you want, the car is not actually limited. This may be a sign that you sensor is going bad, or there could be dirt inside the tire causing a malfunction. If it doesn't come back and the DIC preassure reading is accurate, I wouldn't worry about it.
