Default VaraRam Widemouth?

Anyone try the VaraRam WideMouth setup yet? I am starting to look at the air flow mods and this one seemed interesting. Not sure I would actually do it, but thought I would see if anyone has it or has tried it out.

There is surprisingly little information on VaraRam's website. They call the thing a cold air intake, but they don't even bother to mention where it's getting the cold air from. In the picture, it looks like it sucks air from the stock airbox location, and that wouldn't be considered cold air. Looks to me like it's meant to compete directly with the Blackwing.

I have no doubt it would perform better than the stock airbox, but I'm pretty :skep: of the cold air label.

If I were to spend money on an intake, I'd opt for the VR-1B.

The VR1b tested very well in Vette magazine. It gave impressive
HP gains throughout the RPM range.
