I assembled the Diamond pistons and file-fit rings just last week. I went with Diamonds because of the -8.6 dish, but had to use 6.125" version with 6.125" rods (Eagle H-rods).
3.905" bore, cylinders were honed to fit. Eagle rods, small ends were honed to fit piston pins.
Spiral retaining clips are difficult at first, stretch them to a 1/4" long coil first.
Rings (Blower app) were filed to .018" and .020". Make sure you check frequently with smaller feeler gauges to track progress, otherwise the go/no-go technique will cause you to go beyond target gap.
If you have the moving parts balanced, bring the rings and bearings so the right bob weights can be set.
