Why do you need to remove the light?
Burnt out bulb?
Cracked fixture?
Lift the car (Safely) Remove the panel under the vehicle just in front of the front tires there are about 5, 10mm bolts. Remove the bolts and the panel. Look inside you will see the Brake Air duct.
(If your just replacing a bulb it's a twist lock connector, squeeze and turn to get the bulb out.)
If you need to remove the light fixture:
You will need to move the brake ar duct, to get access to three, 10mm bolts and a spring holding the Light fixture in place. This is going to take some time, possible 1 hour or more. The screws are kind of hard to see and a little tuff to get to. (Hint: only do one side at a time that way you can look at the other side to see how it fits when you put it back)
Best of luck to ya,
Tim
If you are just going to replace the bulb, then go through the brake duct by pushing the accordion shaped duct rearward and then upward and this will provide clearance to access the socket with the bulb. No Problem!
Just did mine two nights ago in about 90 seconds.
1. open hood
2. turn lights on in order to raise headlights, then turn off lights but leave up.
3. if your hands/arms aren't skinny enough like mine, get a kid or your girlfriend / wife to reach in pop it out, then just pop the new one in, down inside the bumper cover.
I lost a tiny bit of skin doing this, but it was worth it for the time savings. You must work your arm in between the hood adjustment screw and the headlight, once you get past the elbow should be very easy to work in there.
Hope this works for you, with a skinny arm and a minute or two of patience it is real easy.
I just went through this. W/O a lift or ramps I don't see how a normal person can do this. Once I got the car up in the air it's a 5 minute job. While in there I replaced both the DRL and the turn signal bulbs.
Could not get the arm threw but that would have been great if I could. Got it up on my new rhino ramps with the help of a couple 2 by 4s, got to the bulb no problem...but after I tried to get the bulb out I saw that it had melted its base so that I had to break it out. Second problem, I remember thinking (my lights are clear not yellow) when buying the replacements but thats what was listed as a part number. Well my lights are white (blue bulb) so back to the parts store I go. The good thing is they did have them in the aftermarket section. So a 30 min job ended up taking about 2.5 hours.
some one else said it here but didnt complete it... lift headlight , turn off headlighte , remove three phillips screws... remove headlight surround ( blk plasic ) also remove the hood adjuster bolt... all this should take no more than 2 minutes.. reach in .. I have big arms... 240 pounds ... no problem for me./.. quarter turn on the lamp socket and replace bulb.... moving the hood adjuster makes lofe so much easier.. and it just one lock nut.. just mark the position . so when you put it back it will be at the right height
