Default Kumho tires

Just put on a set of Kumho Ecsta MX on 2000 Vert and feels like this tire has a higher profile than stock Goodyears as the car seems to sit about 1 in higher. Tire sizes are stock (245/45-17 in front, 275/40-18 in rear). Curious if other people with Kumhos had similar opinion?

Also, tire installer recommended running 35 psi (cold) to get better wear. Is he correct?

Your ride height will probably feel higher since you are going from tires with little tread to new tires with full tread. The new tire heights are the same as the old tire heights. (25.7" front and 26.7" rear)

I found that running 35psi on the rears for street driving gives that best traction and wear. I've tried everything from 28psi to 35psi. Do a search and there are a few threads discussing the tire pressure for the MX's.

I have been running 34 PSI because I noticed the tires turn in a little 'sharper' there than at 30 PSI. At about 4000 miles, they are wearing perfectly normal.
