My 2002 coupe has 19,000 miles on it now and I want to replace the OEM tires with something better. I don't race this car and spend most of my time crusing on the highway (okay, at high speeds - occassionally). I think the OEM tires are a bit noisy and hard riding but they do stick to the road fairly well. Anyone got any recommendations for quiet, smooth, cruising replacement tires? Thanks. :auto:
Look into the Kumho MXs if you don't mind a non-runflat option (although I heard a runflat version is coming out soon). Before I got mine I had a set of Yokohama AVS Sport Runflats, very expensive tire but they held up very well.
IMO the Kumos are light years better than the Yokos and the Eagle F1s, but you'll need that AAA card if you are ever unfortunate enough to have a blowout.

Kumhos are a great value. Quiet, smooth, and very sticky.
Switched to Toyo Proxes T1S (non run flats) Paid $204 ea for 265/35/18 frt & $260 for 295/35/18 rr at Belle Tire. Excellent for high speed, Auto X or drags.
