Default Lingenfelter Tuning Question

Hello Folks-

My Internet-challenged father, a long-time Corvette owner ('65, '75, '89, '93) is preparing to send off his '93 Convertible to Lingenfelter for work. He's very interested in hearing if anyone has comments about the daily-driveability effects of this tuning. I'm fairly sure it's the C4 383 CID package. He has no doubts about the reputation of Lingenfelter (unlike some other tuners I've read about), but is more interested as to how the work will affect his daily driver. If anyone has comments, especiallly hands-on time with one, he'd sure appreciate your input.

Thanks!

Unless he is really attached to the '93 he would be better off buying an '01 -
'03 Z06. May cost less in the long run and would definietely have a far superior machine. :yesnod:

Point well taken about the Z06, as both myself and my brother (active club racer) have told him. He read an article a while back that stated his Yellow '93 Convertible 6 speed was produced in very small numbers, and that hasn't helped our argument.

Short answer, he's hopelessly attached.

With that perspective, I'm surprised he is making such major (or any) modifications to it

That makes two of us! Where cars or members of the opposite sex are involved, logic has a tendency to fly right out the window.

I think his underlying reason is that he thinks it will make it fresh and renew his interest in it, but then again, I'm not a psychologist. :D

Has anyone out there drove a lingenfelter tuned C4?

Not a C4 here, but two years ago today I picked up my 98 Pace Car from LPE. they had just completed a complete, oil pan up, engine. 346ci. The quality of their work is surpassed by none. The research and developement work done at LPE on the C4's and C5's is unsurpassed.
The car runs and idles as new, mpg is 28mpg on the highway, and runs 12's in the 1/4. They built the engine, and did H/C with LPE headers. There are other fine tuners . RWHP on three different dyno days was 386. LPE was my choice. Good Luck,
