My outside air temp is reading wrong. Where is the sensor/pickup? Is that the one that pokes into the radiator shroud on the right side down low? The panel was changed a while back for being dim, but when it is 100 degrees out it reads like 68. I either have a loose wire or dirty terminals or the sensor is toasted!
There are a number of pictures and links in this thread that will answer all your questions. I changed mine about 4 weeks ago, and it took about 10 min.

Thanks Tigger,
Finally got off my dead butt and opened up the manuals. reseated the connector, and will check it out. If it still acts up I will change it later today. I was concerned that it was a input for something other than the AC but it appears that only the AC head uses it! and for $8 bucks, I will swing into the dealership and pick one up. The thread you sent was useful, will save me a bunch of time.

Ah, reseated the corn-necter and it seems to have healed for the time being. Interesting little gizmo and the check out routine for the AC system, reads like a launch plan for a space ship in the maint manual!
