Okay, I am familiar with the Bilstein Sport Shocks, but I noticed that Ecklers is selling Bilstein Drag Shocks (link below). With that I have a few questions.
1. Does anyone have these shocks on their C5? If so, opinions please.
2. Any idea on how these would be on a daily driver?
3. What are the differences between the Sport and Drag shocks?
4. Ecklers lists a claim of up to a 3/10 second increast in the 1/4 mile. Is that a little over exaggerated?
5. Any idea on the life expectancy of the drag shocks before a rebuild?
Very interesting, that's the first time I've heard of those. I wonder if they really help. Even if it helps launching a little, I wonder if it's worth killing your handling on the street in the corners. An adjustable shock like the Hals or Konis would probably be a better bet I'd think. But for a drag only car, these may be cool.
I don't think you'll like your ride on the street with a typical drag setup. I've started home from the drag strip with my HALs still adjusted for the track a few times, makes for an interesting ride.
I would not expect 3/10s. Kinda depends on how bad they are to start though I guess... ;)
Actually the claim is even bigger than 3/10ths because it says
Improves 60 Foot E.T.'s Up To Three Tenths Of A Second*
*We recommend these rear shocks be used in conjunction with the fronts, Bilstein Drag Shocks P/N 45007 to achieve the maximum improvement in elapsed time (E.T.)
I think I will start a dialog with them on these shocks.
0.3 gain on short time? Maybe if you have something like a 2.50 :D I don't see something like going from 2.00 to 1.70 as realistic. REDGAR, see if you can find out what kind of setup they think this can be achieved with.

According to Bilstein's product catalog, they only list two versions of their C5/Z06 shock.
Heavy Duty and Sports. They have yet to release a product statement or bulletin, so as of now, it should be a regular shock. I don't even see a shock part number, so it is even harder to decipher this.
I don't know where Eckler's comes up with this Bilstein drag shock.

Yeah, I when I saw Eckler's advertising a drag shock it caught my eye as I have only heard of the HD and Sport shocks prior. Eckler's does list them as being a new item and I do not recall seeing them on their website 2 weeks ago when I was pricing out shocks.
However, I believe I am going to go with the Bilstein sport shocks mainly due to my car being a daily driver. You wouldn't happen to have some in stock would you? It seems everywhere I'm seeing is sold out and they are on back order.
