I just had my new 4.10 rear installed today. What a nice difference. I shift a little bit more but I get where I'm going a whole lot quicker. The little woman loves the change too. She also loves the loud quad stingers. That makes me lucky the way I see it. I really like these cars a lot, especially when they're loud and fast. George
I'm not too sure what accel gains I actually got but it's much quicker for sure. It feels more potent at all speeds and gears. Going up some steep hills in my home town I can really feel the difference. Third gear now feels as strong as second used to. First gear is shorter and it feels like I used to start off in second. I've read the 3 tenths claim too but it sure feels like more in SOP. It was a real nice mod and I'm glad I did it.

Re: New 4.10 rear-nice ! (REDKOOP)
Best bang for the buck no doubt, for bolt on mod that doesn't open up the heart of your car (engine). And you should feel them in my 03 Z06    :chevy

After this weekend my 2004 Coupe (MN6) will have the Borla Quad Stinger exhaust system, Magnaflow X-pipe, Vararam intake, MSD 8.5mm plug wires, and CAGS defeat.
I think the 4.10 differential with Heavy Duty shaft is the next logical step for me. The prices are reasonable - especially from East Coast Supercharging and Cartek, and the installation appears straight foward for most competent performance shops.
The 4.10 upgrade will complete my performance mods for the next couple of years so I can let those "typical" C5 bugs rise to the surface and have the dealership take care of them without the worry of a warranty coverage fight.
 The 4.10's are the most profound change in driving feel I've done to date. It surprised me how much a 20% ratio change could affect the feel of the car. It definitely feels more "powerful" - like it got a steroid injection. :D
One must choose their ratio carefully, though, based on the future mod path planned and the owner's style of driving. :yesnod:
This is a lose rule regarding gear changes and 1/4 mile times  For every numerical 2/10 increase in gearing... is slightly less than 1/10 change in 1/4 mile time.
Therefore 3.15 to a 3.73 is.... 3.73 - 3.15 = .58 Now .58 / 2 = .29 tenth off 1/4 mile time.
I hope some of you find this info helpful in your search for the best mods
