I got a check engine light last night. Checked the code and it was PO157 low frequency Bank 2 sensor 2. I know that is the rear passanger side o2. On my impala 02 sensor swaps are easy like 10 mins. I havent been under neith the vette yet. But i beet its not as easy.
How do i do it? Will i have to remove the header? Bust some knuckles?
Re: FLP Owners? Front o2 sensor removal. (Mike TexaSS)
No, it's not that big a deal, but which one are you swapping? Your title says front and your post says the PS rear.
Either way it's not that hard. The hardest part is disconnecting the electrical connector because of the limited room but I've done it with the headers in place. I've also swapped O2 simms in and out. Once it's disconnected, free up the harness and then unscrew the sensor from the bung. On the rears, the harness/wires run along and behind the bottom edge of the tunnel heat shield and there are a few malleable clips that hold them in place.
mapman may be correct. I'll say that I was underneath checking something else on day and noticed that one of my rear O2 sensor wires had sagged a bit under the heat of the FLP's just before it goes into the sensor. The wire was touching the hot exhaust tube and the outer insulating sleeve had started to melt. Luckily I caught and corrected it in time.
