Yes...that and much, much more!!! I have my 2001 LS1 HP111 programmer for sell right now, if you want one!
Why don't you start a thread on the forum, to see if the 2001 programmer will work with your car? :)
I don't know for sure. You would have to call Hypertech direct, or one of your local tuners.
If you find out it will work, im me and I'll let you have it at a price you can't refuse. I know these can be bought for $335 now, but when I bought this one, the program wasn't on the market, and Hypertech charged me $500 for a "direct purchase". You can have it for $250, as I can't use it anymore, now that I'm on LS1 edit.
is the hypertech a good choice for a 98 A4, im planning on using a TQ convertor and a 3.42 rear change...is the hypertech a good option...oh and im also doing the thermostat change

Yes, the Hypertech will help in all those areas. :)
Re: Hypertech programmer for an LS1 (NIGHTMARE...2001)
Works well with my 98 A4.Besides turning fans on earlier, I firmed up the shifts and raised my shift rpm. Also have the engine program installed. Picked up .2 in the quarter. You can buy them used for around $200

Read up on the gear change programming options. HPP3 is not a good option for non-stock ratios.
Re: Hypertech programmer for an LS1 (midnightcorvette)
Your programming options are limited by being for an early PCM gear change. HPP3 works for early years but won't help with the gears you want, so it's not an option in your case. Predator doesn't do early PCMs, so also not an option. Superchips is about the only option among handhelds. (IIRC, it's also more expensive, in line with mail order pricing.) Other than that you're looking at mail order or LS1-Edit programming. If you don't swap gears, the HPP3 would do just fine.
Re: Hypertech programmer for an LS1 (ToplessTexan)
thanks alot toplesstexan......one more question.....is superchips a good handheld unit? ive looked into them a little but i dont hear a whole lot about them
Re: Hypertech programmer for an LS1 (midnightcorvette)
They were the first handheld to crack the '01 code so there was a rush of of excitement back then but you don't hear too many folks using them compared to others. I have no reason to think you'd have issues, I've had Superchips tuning in my Ford for a few years although it wasn't by way of hand-held. It's sort of like the Diablo thing in that it's a semi-custom tune. Of course my preference would be LS1-Edit if you're a tinkerer at all. :D Very easy to do the things you're wanting to do now and you can grow into it at your own speed.
