do you have Borla shorty headers?
Are they good? these are their latest design. does anyone have any dyno #'s or fit comments
I installed a set of SLP headers (never again!!!!! PIA installation) and gained 23 RWHP on the dyno. Plus my Corsa indy exhaust are a tone deeper :D
Just my thoughts. Enjoy.

those hp/torque numbers are outstanding
i am concerned with heat and noise up front. every mod has a compromise
i am still not convinced i need headers
what to do? what to do?
these parts i have. I will be installing a 3.90 rear before winter.
I saw a set of borla headers on E-bay something around $650

Yes, I'm using stock heads/cam.

As far as the noise goes, any header will make it seem that you went to louder mufflers as well. My B&B shorties made my Corsa Tourings sound a lot like Indys.
Since the LG Long Tubes are not made of stainless, you would want to have them coated anyway and that will also make a big difference in keeping the heat down. I used Jet-Hot Sterling for coating my B&B Shorties and the result was less heat then the stock manifolds on my '99
The cost of Jet-Hot coating the LG headers themselves would be around $225 more or less. You could also have them coat the 3" exhaust which would significantly reduce the heat radiated into the center tunnel, if you wanted to splurge. I don't have any idea how much that would cost but you could check it out

The Pro LG/Borla Header system, includes 32" Headers, 3"Xpipe, 3"Midpipes, connected to my Borla Stinger system is all aircraft grade Stainless Steel . So, my complete exhaust system is Stainless Steel. I did not need to have the Headers Jet-Hot Coated and have never heard of anybody having the catback system Jet-Hot Coated :lolg: My engine bay does not get over heated and do check it after driving around awhile.
However, I did have a tunnel heat shield installed at the same time of the Header system install. Kind of expensive but even before the Header install I noticed my center console area would get rather warm. Now, with the Headers & tunnel heat shield my center console area is actually cooler than before. Plus, if someone is really worried about the heat or noise they could do the Mike Mercury interior insulation mod... http://mikemercury.home.att.net/sound.htm
I did not mean to flame but you were wrong about the Pro LG/Borla LT Header system not being SS because they are definitely Stainless Steel .
While nobody needs to have stainless headers coated, it does make a significant difference heatwise and the Sterling coating looks  in my opinion. I have never heard of anyone coating their intermediate/x-pipe either (that idea just popped out of my head while writing) but it might be interesting to compare the cost of coating the pipes vs a heat shield.
Thanks Cary for catching my mistake and clearing up any confusion I may have caused  As my ex says: Most of the time you're right but when you're wrong your're dead wrong

 Oh, you said cat(s)
When I had the Pro LG/Borla LT system installed Lou was still working on the design with Random Tech to add the cats. So, my LT system has :nono: cats. Lou now sales & installs cats for this LT system but I have not decided if I want to spend the $$$. Besides, the only residual effect I've noticed is having to clean up the Borla Quad tips more frequently. The sound is
 Cary
