I'm going for a dyno run on Wednesday and, when I spoke to the dyno op on the phone, he said he would run the car WOT in 3rd and then change into Neutral until the rollers stopped in order to calculate driveline losses. This would, effectively, mean a coast-down in Neutral from about 140mph!
I'm sure I've read that changing into Neutral before the car has stopped is harmful to the tranny.
Can anyone shed any light?
Is this the correct procedure?
Shifting in to Park would be bad, not sure if a Neutral shift would be a problem. You could always email another tuner and get a second opinion on the procedure. MTI has dyno'd an A4 that I used to own with no problems, so you could email Jayson.

I don't see why shifting into Neutral at any speed would be bad....as long as their isn't a load on the tranny; ie I wouldn't have it hammered at 140 and shift into N without taking my foot off the gas.
