This was a first. Anyone experienced this? What's there to warm up? Another message appeared 15 seconds later saying the Active Handling warm-up complete. This happended after driving the car for 10 minutes. :skep:
Re: DIC Message: Active Handling Warming Up (angstr1)
I've had it happen a couple of times.
Even once during a Open Road Racing event.
It was about 100 degrees out and the car had been sitting for about 1/2 hour.
I thought it was kind of strange but it worked fine. And I haven't seen it sence.
Regards,
Tim
Re: DIC Message: Active Handling Warming Up (angstr1)
Warm-up is a bad choice of words by GM in this message, as temperature has nothing to do with it. You can get the message in 20 degree or 100 degree weather. Its merely a system calibration and should be nothing to worry about.
This usually happens when you drive a short distance at very slow speeds (under 10mph) and make a few initial turns. The system can't calibrate, so it basically just turns off. Driving straight above 10mph will bring the next message that the system has warmed-up.
I usually get this message when I am leaving my work parking lot at night. I drive slow for about 100 yards to navigate the speed bumps. Once I hit a straight drive and 15mph, the system calibrates.
