Some of you techies help me out, but I think if you do not re-install them,
you'll get a message on the DIC each start-up saying "service tire monitor system" (or something like that, same as if one sensor goes bad).

You are correct. It will throw a message on the DIC. This can be programmed out with a Tech II though. If it is deleted, you will not have any messages. All Chevy dealers have the tool, but only some will do this for you. It never hurst to ask though!

I do not have sensors on my 2000 and every time I start the car I have to hit reset to get rid of the message. I will probably either get a 2001+ computer so I can get rid of the message or put tire pressure sensors on with my next set of tires.

Other than getting a message on the DIC and not knowing what your tire pressure is, you will be OK.
