Default LS1 Tune verses Hypertech

I'm trying to find out which is the most band for the buck. Should I buy the hypertech programer or should I opt for the LS1 tuning? Whats the difference bewteen the two? Is $400 - $600 a reasonable price to pay?

I noticed that one place mentioned that you can purchase some computer software included with the LS1 tunning. Can anybody help me understand what I will see as results and any info on this so called computer software?

Thanks

Mike P.  :flag

I have had a HPP3 on 2 of my cars and dyno'd both with and without the HPP3 tuning and for HP they are worthless. I gained no more than 1hp and actually lost 2 ft.lbs of TQ on the T/A.

Unless you are only using it for gear changes or something I wouldnt even bother buying it. Get LS1 Edit or even a Predator before the HPP3 junk. :)

Mike,
YOu have a couple of great tuners in Florida.DO NOT waste your money on a HPP!Have the car LS1 EDITed will run somewhere around $500 but if you ever do any mods it will be updated for free. The car dynoed at the same time and you can immediately see the improvements.

I would go w/ an LS1 edit tune. I gained 25 rwhp and 30ft/lb off of a tune. Mine was done by a local tuner called Dragon race Engineering. They charged me $350.00 but usually it is around $500. On the other hand tho they tuned my buddies Pace Car w/ Z06 heads and Cam and only gained 10 more horsepower over the hypertech. The curve looked alot better tho. kaley
