Re: FAST LSX Intakes @ Thunder Racing (X_03_Cobra_guy)
PAUL/THUNDER RACING:
What can i realistically expect to pick up at the wheels on my 98 C5 auto A4 tranny with this manifold vs. my current z06 intake, on my MTI 427 Z07 motor which is putting down 470rwhp on the brand new motor with only 700 miles on it?
We will be the first dealer in the nation to have these in stock and we are now taking pre-orders.
Paul I couldn't help but notice that you will have them before anyone else in the nation. If this is the case we can cancel our order with them and you can mark us down for 100 units.

:iagree: I'm in a very similar situation! :yesnod: :yesnod: :smash: :smash:
:iagree: I'm also interested in the numbers for a stroker, I am having heads built presently and wonder if I should hold off and think about enlarging the intake port since this manifold is good for porting,
Re: FAST LSX Intakes @ Thunder Racing (TEK WARRIOR)
The intake that you see on our web page is one that we took pictures of this weekend at our shop. (I have a bunch more, but they didn't come out as well.) Our rep from Comp came down with it for us to do some testing. If you look closely, you will see the Thunder Racing logo on the door behind the guy in this pic... http://www.thunderracing.com/images/lsxintake3.jpg
This is a prototype intake and it is not one we will be installing. It was just for us to get a look at port designs, take measurements, etc.
Not to burst the bubble on your marketing strategy, but others WILL also have some in stock in about a month too... :blueangel:

That is based on the fact that we were the first to have the part numbers, pricing, and the first to put an order in. Also all of the intakes that will be made will not be available at the release date. Maybe everyone will have them around the same time depending on production but that's not usually how it goes.

Boy do I know "that" part of the business. You should see what I go through for my aluminum rod and custom valvetrain endevours! :D
Guess I'll be playing with the new Comp unit in a couple of weeks (or so) and see what some additional work can do to the new "poly-piece". Hopefully it'll show some improvements over an "as-molded" unit and I can maintain a bit of an advantage over the competition for my customers!
Re: FAST LSX Intakes @ Thunder Racing (fast 98 C5)
Wow this may be the mod I've been waiting for ?
It may be one hell of a piece but the wait will be even longer...
I spoke to the rep at Comp and the "Big Dawgs" at the top say it's release is scheduled for January...
No early Christmas gift yet...
We'll see how things play out ...
On a side note... Spending $900-$1000 for a composite aftermarket EFI manifold is not that bad of a deal. Cripe, my Ford customers are spending almost $600 for an aluminum Holley SM2 intake and over $500 to get them ported/fixed... And that's on a Mustang budget, not a C5 budget!!!
