Default FAST LSX Intakes @ Thunder Racing

We have an R&D unit for testing that arrived here today. Guys I have to tell you these things are going to be bad to the bone. They are in 3 pieces to allow for easy port matching and have optional pressure blow-offs to protect aganist those nasty nitrous backfires. More photos and results are soon to come. We will be the first dealer in the nation to have these in stock and we are now taking pre-orders. We have plenty on order but I'm sure production will be slow to start with so if you want to be the first on the block to have one of these get your order in now. They should be available in about 6-10 weeks. Here is a link to parts numbers, photos, and pricing.

I can't wait to see some testing results from all the various vendors who have received one early for R&D testing. Should prove very interesting and hopefully worth the $$

Oh yeah I forgot. This weekend is double on-line ordering discounts. So if you order this weekend you'll get $40 off and if you order over $1000 then it'll be $80 off. :D

Just to answer a few IMs I've received: We never charge a customer for product that we haven't got so all manifold orders will be treated as a normal back order and charged as they ship. All orders will be shipped in the order they are received. We already several orders in to take advantage of the $80 off. So that would put the manifolds at $820.

The stock 75mm TB will work fine with the 78mm intake. FAST will also have 78 and 90mm TBs available but pricing is not available at this time. A Rep for FAST is done here now so I'll keep beating him up on TB pricing. :smash: :D

More results soon to come.

I always get a kick out of the term "space age (fill in the blank)". Maybe people have forgotten their history, but men were flying in space in the early 60s. In any event, the intake looks interesting.

I have some questions

1) where does the intake split into the 3 seperate pieces. could we get photos of the intake apart?
2) how does it seal back together? gaskets? RTV?
3) where did the 20hp over LS1, and 15hp over LS6 numbers comes from? the manufacturer?
4) the cost, I was under the impression polymer intakes were far cheaper to produce than aluminum ones. is this a simple case of supply and demand, since there is no supply yet? and we might expect the price to drop as production starts?

I'm very eager to see some real world numbers.

I posted some more of the pics that we took of the intake this weekend on our web page. I'm sure Paul will be able to post more specifics on Monday.

Looks fantastic but as usual a 10x markup profit margin = rip off.
I bet thunder will have the best prices on them.

Buy up people then sell me your LS6 intake!

Only when corvette owners refuse to buy overpriced products will things be retailed realistically.

I just put in my order for the 90mm version, do you have any idea on the estimated prices of the FAST 90mm TB's? Thanks

I can believe that to a point, but an R&D effort like this has a higher price due to the relatively few units they will be able to sell. I am less tolerant of items that are sold by the thousands with one price for Corvettes and another (lower) price for the same product on other GM products.

Relatively few units they will be able to sell.... Why yes, how many units can you really expect to sell with a price tag of nearly a grand ? Hopefully the price will decline over time.

:withstupid: I've neven seen any price drop on any new performance products unless another new one comes out to prove a better performance.
If this one can gain 20 hps over LS6 intake on a cam only car, then I may get one instead of spending over 2K$ for heads and gain very much the same hps.

Mmmm me likes it. Hmmm will be hard to resist this one. God I love mods. Haven't even finished my LG Long Tube/MTI Stealth Cam/Ported LS6 Head Combo yet. Very close though :D . Kinda broke right now but rest assured when I get 800 smackers I'll be buying this puppy. :steering:
