I am planning on going to the track this weekwnd to take advantage of my new Shift light and my ET Streets. I have 26/11.50/16 ET Streets mounted on firebird twisted spoke rims.
Im also running the SPEC Stage 3 clutch with steel flywheel. Stock M6 trans and stock 3.42 rear end.
My car dyno's 455 RWHP and 440 RWTQ. Am i asking for a major break? Im only planning on going to the track this one time to take advantage of the great Texas weather we are getting now.
Or am i better off waiting and installing a hardened imput/output shaft?
Re: ET Street Users will i break something? (Mike TexaSS)
My launch technique was to rev it to 5500 and dump the clutch. I was expecting to break my output shaft in the diff but what I broke was my carrier(in half) and the output shaft of the tranny. I was only making 413 rwhp. maybe u should ask Brent or C5pig, they have to know how to launch-hell they run 10's. Bottom line if it doesn't break today it will break later.

Re: ET Street Users will i break something? (Mike TexaSS)
If you launch hard and dump the clutch aggessively to get a best potential et then you CERTAINLY stand a fair chance of breaking something in the rear end and or rear axle with your power, your new sticky tires which HOOK GREAT and with a manual tranny. With the power level and sticky rubber that you now have chance of beaking rear end and or axle is rising quickly.
If you can't stomach breaking right now or can't afford to break anything just launch easy but then expect to bog with et streets.
Re: ET Street Users will i break something? (Mike TexaSS)
you need to be smart with the air pressure and don't go too low. I think running 15 or less is asking for a dead hook, especially on a well prepped track.
I run as close to 20psi in my et streets as I can get away with (depending on track prep). It will spin for about 10 feet but I still seem to cut low 1.6 60fts with a stock 3.42 rear, M12 tranny, 410rwhp and 6000rpm launches. Nothing broke (yet) :smash:
