Are there any performance gains from changing the runflats to a better tire, if so what are some good names
Yeah! Your car will actually go somewhere when you nail it! The runflats, will never hook for you, unlike some other more specialized brands.
Most popular are BFG t/a KD's, and Nitto 555 Extremes. Give 'em a try, when your up for changing rubber! ;)
Not to horn in on Coyotes' thread, but....... I have Michelin Pilot Sport Runflats, my friend has Toyo's on his 98 C-5.... we are going to the track this weekend to run each other. Should I prepare for severe disappoint with these tires? I just bought the car, its a 2000 FRC, and the tires are brand new, so putting on different rubber would be rather dumb since these tires are so fresh. Any input?

Had difficulty getting my Toyo's to hook up at the strip, however, having said that, could only make 2 runs before crank pulley came loose and oil leak caused clutch to slip. Sure I could have got the hang of hooking after a few runs. Before slipping did a 13.9 @ 110mph with tires smoking all 1st & most of 2nd gear. My 00 cpe has 400 Dyno HP. Interested in how your friend's Toyo's do. Mine rrs are 295/35/18's.
