Stupid question: do you (or the dealer) have to reset the tire pressure sensors after you install new tires, or take the wheels off for that matter? Tire guy said you have to, yet the car read the pressures just fine on the 2nd startup (1st gave flat tire warnings on all tires) Fact or bullcrap?
If the sensors were reinstalled at the same location on the car (ie: left front, right rear, etc), no reprogramming is necessary.
If you don't know what sensor was where, the DIC will still show all the readings, but may not be the correct tire (ie: your left front reading could now be your right front tire). In this case, or if you have any doubts, just reprogram them, it's very simple.
Whenever I've had new tires installed or balancing or whatever I just make sure that each sensor goes back to the same location. When you train the sensors it is one corner at a time, real easy to do yourself with a reasonable magnet. I use the back of a 6x9 speaker to train mine when they require discipline. ;)
