Default 18" with 19"s

Who out there is running 18" front wheels with 19" in the rears? How does it handle compared to stock size? What brand wheel and what tires are you using? Any rubbing on corner-to-corners or any bottoming-out? Are you driving a FRC, Z06 or vert (don't know if it makes a difference???)?

Thanks in advance. :seeya

The under side of all of the C5/Z06's are the same. The only way you would have to worry about rubbing is if you had the car lowered to far or if you had the wrong size wheels and tires installed.
I have driven every combination wheel and tire package on Coupe, Conv., FRC and Z06, from 17/18-18/19-19/20 in many diffrent widths and I have only seen rubbing from one set up and that was the 18x10 front and 18x11.5 rear, with 335's. This was due to the car being lowered to far with coil over shocks, but that was easily fixed by raising the car back up.
I hope this helps.

I am using 18/19's. I tubed the rear to clear the 12 inch rear wheels. No rubing in front either on 18's. Good Luck

Comparing the 18/19 combo to the 19/20... Was there a big difference in the ride?

In All Corvettes Are Red, the author indicates that John Cafaro (C5 designer) actually wanted the 18/19 combination, but was over-ruled in favor of better aerodynamics, as I recall.

Wheel size is like this. OEM is 245/45/17 front and 275/40/18 rear. As you "increase" wheel diameter, you need to use tires with a "lower" sidewall height. This keeps the height the same as OEM.

I am in the procees of going with an 18/19 configuration, myself. I checked around and read about numerous mod. upgrades and found this config. to be often recommended. As well, by some notable tuners. Suggesting it as their desired tire wheel/combo. Rippie Motorsports, 21st Century Muscle Cars to name a couple.

Thanks for the input.

If I go with the 18"/19" combo, what size tires are recommended for use with a mix of autocross, dragstrip & everyday driver in a metro area (potholes)?

Keeping in mind that John Cafaro was looking at that from a designers viewpoint, which had little or nothing to do with actual performance.
