I see Yank as a popular unit. Are there others good ones out there? Who are popular and reliable vendors? This is for a street (with a heavy foot) setup.
Yank makes an excellent converter as does Precision Industries (Vigilante Converters). For the street with no track use something mild like the Yank 3000 or the Vigilante 2800 would be great. For the street with a little track time the Yank SY3500 or the Vig 3200 would be a great choice.
With 3.15 gears I would recommend the Yank 3000, and for 3.42 gears I would recommend the Super Yank 3500. Both of these converters are incredibly street-drivable. I have sold many to guys that let their wives drive their c5s and they have all been very happy.
A torque converter is one of the best mods you can do to an A4 in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more, I love my Yank SS4000, and was a big fan of my SY3500 till I outgrew it. :D
