I'm having the same problem on my 2000 corvette. I took the steering collum apart and with a test light I was loosing my right brake light at the multi-funtion switch at the turn single. I had a single going to the turn single switch from the brake pedel switch. A single to the left brake light and nothing to the right. I'm assuming it's the turn single multi funtion switch is bad. A bulb for the brake light uses 1 amp X 2. 2 amps is a lot. And can burn the relay or switch if held on for a long period or repeated use. I assume thats what happened to the switch.
Does anyone have a wirering diagram for the brake light circut you could send me?

okay. i think im crazy. my 2 right rear brake lights are out. i changed the bulbs, i even swapped them. all other lights work, tail, signal, side, regular rear lights, rear markers, everything else works. i checked all fuses. i tried checking the wires as much as i could. but when i step on the brake, only the left side lights up. any suggestions?
Try This, When you step on the brake, Hit the Hazzard button a few times, see if they come back on. I had to change out my hazzard switch due to all kinds of problems, it was a expensive switch. Good news is it can be changed by removing the radio instead of the hole dash...
Okay i just had this happen to me just last month. A bulb went out, put in a new one and the right side would not come on when I step on the brake, only the left side.
The solution for me.
1. Have your e-brake on.
2. Behind your clutch pedal there is a big black button. The best I can describe it, a small black block that you can push in. Once you push it in it will come back out. It reset the lights for me and its been fine ever since.
Hope this helps. Cheers!!! Dealer is expensive if you don't have warranty anymore. Take 5 seconds.
What happen to me on my 99 Conv, no brake lights and no cruise control, with the ABS icon appearing on the dash. Turned out to be a stop light\flasher signal fuse, replaced the 20 amp fuse and all is well.
