Default Checking transmission fluid

I just got done changing my tranny fluid and filter. I drained it all out of the pan and cooler lines. I pumped 3 qts of fluid back in the filler hole and the it started to come out. I drove it alittle to cycle it threw the tranny and came back and pumped more in. Drove it some more and came back to check it. It didnt take hardly any, so I thought it was full. Now when I drive it feels like it is slippy alittle. Once in OD, it shifts back down then back up a bunch. Does this mean I still need fluid. How many quarts does it take. Does the fluid need to be blown in with pressure, or is just pumping it in enough. I cant find anything in the search part.

the service manual says to run the engine (I'll check to see which gear your supposed to be in, Park or neutral) and with the car raised and level you add fluid until it comes out the fill hole, but the engine has to be running when you check the level.

You have to have the car jacked up with the car running while you fill it up. Do a seach for tranny refill on this forum. Basically get the car up to operating temperature raise or jack the car up, put the car in neutral, put tranny fluid in while it is running until it starts pouring out the side then stick the plug back in, shift car back into park and turn off the car. It is a very messy job if you do not have something to pump the fluid into the car. Also watch out for the exhaust, chevrolet put the fill plug right by the exhaust where it gets hot very quickly. Good Luck
