Would the Yank SY3500 be a good TC with either 3.15/3.42/3.73 I have not made up my mind yet . I am leaning towards 3.42 . What shift kit should I use?   :flag :flag :steering: :steering: :steering:
I can not wait till tuesday to pick up my new baby
Go with at least 3.42 gears, that converter will feel pretty loose with just 3.15 gears. If you can swing it get 3.73 gears, you will then have a tremendous combo for the street that will have excellent driveability. A shift kit is not a must, in fact Yank does not recommend the use of shift kits with their converters (see the Yank web site under FAQs). Since you will need to have your shift points reprogramed anyway, just have who ever is doing it for you firm up your shift points at the same time. Spend the $300.00 a shift kit will cost you on another mod. But if you still want a shift kit most of the guys that have them use the Trans Go Shift Kit  .
Yank will personally suggest 3.42's and 3.73's for that stall ratio. Seems to be their favorite combo. Look at my sig....if you havent purchased one. Good luck...

Glenn43,
I just had my conversion done two weeks ago. I had a set of 342s in my garage waiting to replace my 273s, but decided on gutting the 342 gears and replacing them with 373s. I also went with the SY3500. The car cooks! I had the guys at East Coast Supercharging in Southern NJ do the job. After the install, they tuned the car using the LS1 edit program. They were excellent and I could not be happier. I am also trying to decide on the shift kit. Good Luck!! :flag
It is a great combo, I did not go with the trans go shift kit but had the shift pressure firmed up while tuning with LS1 Edit. It rocks as far as I am concerned but many swear by the trans go. Either way you will be happy. I
frodo....I wish I had my tuning specs with me but i am away from home...there is probably some good info in the archives especially by topless texan who was a great help to me when i did my mods. Enjoy

Re: Yank SY3500 (frodo84)
I have the 3500 and 3.42s, perfect for the street in my opinion. Not as hard hitting off the line as most of the newer converters on the market but you won't hook up on street tires. This converter is made for the street. If you go to the tack often, get something more aggressive.
