i am having the gears changed so I don't know whats involved with a leak fix only. make sure they use the new seals #89047953 side cover and 88996703 output shaft oil seal. these are new parts from GM, the dealer didn't even have the output shaft seal in there system yet.
my car started to leak at 5900mi

Don't expect anything from GM if not under warranty even though it is a known problem on many of the C'5s. I have a 99 with only 9500 miles on it outside of warranty and it cost me $600 for the repair after another delaer quoted me $1200. Shop around and find a reputable shop. Also ask them to check out the TSB out on this subject, it list the seals posted above.

Just had my 2002 with 14000 miles back to the dealer for rear leak. They replaced right and left covers and gaskets. No leaks now. :flag

This repair can easily be accomplished in two hours or less X the shop labor rate. I will be happy to do side cover leaks for $600.00. I could do at least 4 per day.

Well.......the dealer ordered the parts as per the latest TSB and said the bill will be $450.00 installed. Could have been worse I guess.....

Should cost a couple of hours labor plus parts. Had mine done twice and I know they didn't spend any more time than that on the repair.
